The Trade Ideas scan was better than expected compared to yesterday's action (although weaker). The "Top-8" picks covered a time span of 51 minutes with a "20-appearance" list covering 2 hours and 30 minutes . Collective2 update

There have been a couple of changes since the market swoon to the extent there are two positions left standing (11% equity exposure, 89% cash). I will be looking to ramp up equity exposure over the coming days. But below are the positions which were exited over the last couple of weeks: Ascent Solar Technologies ( ASTI ): My initial impressions for a fresh base have morphed into something larger. The stock is trading in quiet action around the $7 mark and should see some support at the newly formed 200-day MA. The 500 share position closed for a -$280 ( -5.93% ) loss: Devry Inc ( DV ) has chopped around the $33-36 range but has managed to hold the bulk of May gains. The initial position I attempted was stopped out after the first break of $36 failed. The 200-day MA / May gap lows beckons. The 300 share position closed for a -$348 ( -3.26% ) loss : Collective2

Trade Ideas: PDCO, PBI, BAY, GFR vs PLCM, PRST, CMP, SLB

If you are a Subscriber - or regular reader - I am working on getting all aspects of the website up to speed. Market internals are looking good for a bottom - even if the markets go on to make a lower low from here. The Trade Ideas scan was slow considering the strong volume gains; the "Top-8" list came in at a disappointing 25 minutes and the "20-appearance" list at a more respectable 1 hour and 10 minutes - but the slow "Top-8" list suggests no strong buying into the close. PDCO , PBI , BAY and GFR are drawn from the "Top-8" and PLCM , PRST , CMP , and SLB from the "20-appearance" list. Trade Ideas: EMN, MWE, CYT, DJP vs AVX, CRR

My family and I are in the middle of our move back to Ireland, so bit by bit we get rid of stuff I need to keep myself connected - today was the TV (I am currently surrounded by an assortment of kitchen paraphenlia, trinkets, and to-do lists). I am clinging on to my wireless but this could be gone by the weekend in our yard sale. By next week the blog may be dark for a few days. I hope to get things back to temporary normality in August as we stop in Washington for a few weeks before the final leg to Ireland. Our departure from sunny Hawaii is August 5th, so I will not be doing a Stockcharts summary this week (the farewell barbecue hosted by our neighbours) or next (pre-flight/last minute stuff). Traveling with a 9-month old for 14 hours will not be a ball of fun. But buying first class tickets from Honolulu to Dulles for $600 on Expedia is priceless. Given the flights go for $2,500+ I am sure some will be not to pleased to see a baby in first class - but I suppose its the ol' what
