CAMP wavering

Wasn't too impressed with today's action. Volume was light and support held at the 20-day MA (and the channel line). But it broke the near term trend of rising lows going back 13 trading days. Further loses will see this tossed from the account. I did take a position in my ROTH IRA at the same time it was added to my Marketocracy account and I sold Oct $7.50 covered calls thinking we could see a dip to close the July breakout gap from $7.50. I will buy back these calls if the subsequent action looks bullish. Covered calls filled at $1.05. Other Marketocracy action remained firm. NOVA digested Friday's big gains. GTI bounced off support while ERES flittered downwards in light volume trading.

CAMP added @ $8.45

Some statistics of the Marketocracy account

Image
After a reasonably strong start the portfolio has suffered a series of narrow losses. It is currently underperforming the market and the Marketocracy m100. Recent trades

Current holds remain unchanged

Image
ERES has been the star performer in the portfolio. The jury is still out on GTI as NOVA works on a test of support. In line with my market commentary on my sister site I have not been adding new positions until we see what the Big Money does once it returns from vacation. Below is what Trade Ideas had featured for GTI on Aug 23rd Due diligence as always, DJF

GTI test of support worth fishing

Featured as a Free Breakout Play for August 10th. I like today's test of support which gives it long side merits Click for Stockchart.com chart DD as always, DJF

CYCLed out

Dumping CYCL on what looks to be a confirmed loss of support. Company had reported disappointing earnings . Featured as a Free Breakout play for June 16th and for May 3rd

Sold BMRN on bearish flag concerns

Image
Maybe a little premature but in the current market malaise it is probably better to sit this one out. In: $8.49 Out: $8.07

NOVA and BMRN added

Image
NOVA is a pending breakout play. Featured as a gold member pick (subscription required to view) on December 21st and July 5th , also as a Breakout play (free to view) on July 29th . Unfortunately, BMRN has gone from a bullish pennant to a pennant breakdown in the space of a couple of hours. This may not last long in the portfolio. The 20-day MA/grey hashed line is the last point of defence. Featured as a gold member pick on July 18th. DD as always, DJF

TSN to go

Image
Dived below its 20-day MA as earnings were released. Managed a meagre rally into the close. Will use the opportunity to sell on tomorrow's open. The world's largest meat-processing company, Tyson Foods (NYSE: TSN - News), reported third-quarter results that were not as meaty as last year's third quarter. While revenue barely nudged up 0.7%, earnings came in at $0.44 a share -- a penny shy of last year, even after adding back $0.08 for one-time events. By W.D. Crotty Motley Fool
