Can the Russell 2000 end the day with a breakout? With 10-minutes to go the index is trading right on channel resistance. Unfortunately, the rest of the market is not showing the depth of buying associated with a strong day. The time required by the Trade Ideas software to generate 8 different picks was 6 minutes . Plenty of REITs and dividend funds on the list - no real speculative plays (another tick in the negative column). Best of these was EastGroup Properties ( EGP ). Stock has developed a small flag off the double bottom. Larger resistance at $48.38 EastGroup Properties, Inc., a real estate investment trust (REIT), engages in the development, acquisition, and operation of industrial properties in the United States. As of December 31, 2005, it operated a portfolio of approximately 21.9 million square feet of real estate properties principally in the states of Arizona, California, Florida, and Texas. Disappointing earnings from Hawaiian Electric ( HE ) killed its recent run off $25.75. The break of support was enough to stop the position out at breakeven; the 300 share lot closed for +$90 . An aggressive buy at support for Radian Group failed to deliver as the stop was knocked out at the very lows of today. The 150 share lot closed down -$114 . Fallond / Trade Ideas / Jim Cramer : July 25th

Tuesday's week-on-week comparison was unusual because the percentage of profitable trades was quite high, but those picks which turned a loss, actually turned a sizable loss. For my newsletter picks it was DCTH ( -14.68% ); for the Trade Ideas picks it was SMSI ( -20.48% ); and for Jim Cramer it was FRK ( -14.57% ). Because of these losses the market ETFs had the only net positive return, per trade, for the week ( +0.62% ). Best of the bunch was a newsletter subscriber pick [ $ ], WRLD ( +3.66% ). From the Trade-Ideas picks I had suggested NRI as the one to watch. It finished slightly up on the week ( +0.64% ). Watch the small, blue channel following the resistance breakout. The investment seeks investment returns that replicate as closely as possible, before expenses, the price and yield performance of the Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50 index. The fund will typically invest at least 90% of assets in component securities that comprise the Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50 index. It may also invest in money market instruments, convertible securities, structured notes, and options and futures contracts. The fund is nondiversified. The 1-week comparison for last Monday's picks wasn't even close. Jim Cramer's picks smoked the competition, his lightning round picks gained an average of +6.69% per trade. This was his best weekly return in 49 comparisons. The market ETFs were next up with an average gain of +2.96% , followed by the Trade Ideas picks at +1.61% . Only Jim Cramer and the market ETFs recorded a 100% win percentage. Unfortunately, my newsletter picks scored a loss of -1.71% with a 50% win percentage. The biggest gainer on the week was a toss up between two of Jim's picks: GM and EGY gained +11.18% and +11.26% respectively. Not surprisingly, EMCI from my Breakout scan was the biggest loser dropping -11.72% . If you would like to try a full version of the Trade-Ideas software, follow this link for a free 7-day trial.
